Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing…. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. (Psalms 100.)
We of the Apostolic Assembly of Jesus Christ love to praise and worship our God. We take great joy in demonstrating King David’s psalm, “…bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” (Psalms 34:1.) With the example first set before us by our Pastor Buck, singing and strumming his guitar, the Music Ministry of the Apostolic Assembly has grown to include our music director Jodi Reed, a choir, a children’s choir, and several other groups, solo singers, and wonderful musicians all making a joyful noise unto the LORD. Worship through music is ordained by God and is a blessed way of expressing our love and adoration for all that our precious Lord is to us. It is our privilege to give back to Him! It is a ministry that we have shared in the community, from singing at the Alaska State Fair, to the local fair on the Kenai Peninsula, and extending into our various outreaches. We enter our community parade every year with a small float representing our church with live gospel music and singing. It makes heads turn and brings joy into the expressions of spectators!
The Bible tells us that if we keep silent and don’t worship Him, “the stones would immediately cry out.” (Luke 19:40.) There will never be any rock praising God while we are here, and we have learned that when we sing and praise Him, God hears and quickly responds, with His great blessings and outpourings of His precious Spirit.
